I love decorating a nursery just as much as the next designer, but a big kids room? A big kids room is hands down my favorite! I enjoy finding that exact balance of maturity and whimsy, something about the perfect amount of playfulness layered on top of a more sophisticated foundation that will last until teenage years – It’s my favorite space to design! I’ve been planning Mara’s big girl room for over a year (in my head of course!) and have been patiently waiting for a few elements to fall into place. We have a few things to do in her room first, like installing new flooring, replacing a window, upgrading the electrical etc. Some of the easier elements (like bedding!) I knew I could execute in the short term. For starters, I wanted a rattan bed for her, and in August Anthropologie had their big 30% off sale so I snagged this one! It was on backorder and finally arrived two weeks ago!

One of the other elements I knew I wanted was a mattress from Brentwood Home . Over two years ago I partnered with Brentwood Home on a mattress for Mara’s crib.
