Alrighty folks! If you’re like me and LOVE peeking behind the scenes on projects or in people’s homes, this tour is for YOU! Myself and 15 of your favorite interior bloggers are closing our eyes in fear and lifting the veil to share with you how very regular and totally normal our homes actually look!
Here’s the first look at our entry! I consider this space the dumping ground of pieces from our past home, full of misfit furniture, etc. My husband is married to this sectional, it was the first piece of furniture we bought together. It’s comfortable but is way too large for our current living room. The windsor style rattan bench was a shotgun sale purchase from Urban Outfitters, I want to love it but clearly it doesn’t belong, and whenever I try to photograph it close-up it gives off this terrible orange cast. Sigh…

Please note the command strips that are left over from hanging our wreath during the holidays, and the dated orange frosted glass light fixture and hand painted light switch plate, both original to the home mind you. Two of these perfect brass wire baskets hold extra shoes, and hide a wide open giant intake vent in the floor!

Spoiler alert! My everyday bedroom doesn’t look like this photo above. Instead, 2-3 rejected outfits from the morning rush to work are tossed on the end of the bed, an empty can of last night’s La Croix (always lemon!) sits on the nightstand along with electronics chargers just hanging about.

Above is the photo I styled and took of Zano’s room after revealing it a few weeks ago, and below I snapped in the morning right after we made his bed together. Zano is turning 4 next week, and recently it’s started feeling like the right time to slowly get him into the process of making his bed. So far he’s excited to help! He grabs one side of the duvet, I grab the other, we pull it to the top and fold it over. Then he arranges all his “guys” on top of his pillow. It’s too sweet! I will admit, I did move his batman water thermos out of the way before snapping the below photo.

I moved our buffalo check chairs from the living room in here, as the fabric was getting too much sun exposure in the living room. My little IKEA dresser is also in her room, as well as our dog crates. It’s a straight up disaster, but one our master suite is put back together, I can relocate some of these items.

Speaking of master suite…

It’s looking great! Yet definitely not magazine worthy. How about that concrete splatter on the ceiling? It’s definitely the eyeliner that got away…
Alright folks, have some fun today and hop on to the 15 other SUPER talented interior blog boss ladies and see what’s behind their curtains!

How on earth did you get concrete all the way up there LOL. Also, I’m a La Croix girl too…but always coconut =)
coconut is my #2! and yeah, the concrete situation on the ceiling is hilarious lol!
I’ve been enjoying seeing progress on your master suite on IG… that’s going to be so amazing!
It still looks beautiful! I love all the cute little stuffed animals on her bed- so sweet. Loved doing the tour with you! xox
I think I actually need a room in my house now for “outfit rejects”…this has turned my bedroom floor into a closet. Oy! Loved this look at your fab home!
That switch plate!!! Haha!!
LOL we have that EXACT same sectional.. it’s wayy too big for our living room but same- our first big purchase and i actually love how big it is so we can all pile on – practical wins!
Exactly! IT’s great for company, 3 people can sleep on it no problem haha!
