I have quite the challenge ahead of me with this shared nursery space. I don’t want to, or plan to, compromise design just because our kids room is a co-ed space, but it’s equally important to me that the space remain cohesive. I suppose what I’m saying is, I want Zano’s boy side of the room to reflect his personality, and our baby girl’s side to be feminine, yet still make sense as one space when you’re standing in the middle of the room. Blah. It’s a tough ask!
We’re keeping the indigo/navy walls. The walls are actually a great foundation for keeping things cohesive. You’ve seen most of Zano’s side of the room already – it leans towards a ‘modern vintage camp retreat’. I plan to continue the ‘modern vintage’ aspects through the girl’s side, but add a moody dose of femininity (hopefully!) by way of the oversized florals you see in the inspiration board above. I’ll also add a few metallic elements and natural fibers (like those wall hangings!). And I’m totally inspired by the texture found from the feathers of a juju hat.
So tell me, am I off my rocker? Or do you think I can pull this off?
I think its going to be fabulous!! I love the idea of a shared co ed childs space. Also you had me at moody florals and juju hat so…..
I am in love with that Elie Cashman wallpaper!!! I was thinking of using it inside my closet and I am sure it would look amazing in a little girl nursery!
Oh this is going to be great!!
You can and will pull it off. Looking forward to seeing you do just that!
It’s going to be beautiful! Can’t wait to see!
thanks friend!
I think it’s going to be great! And even if it isn’t “Pinterest-perfect” it’ll make sense for your actual life and the little cuties who live there, and that’s more important.
I can’t wait to see what you do. Loving that floral wallpaper.
