  • WE HAVE A MIRROR!

California Modern brass, wood & marble bathroom | brittanyMakesWe have a MIRROR!!! This mirror has to be the most drama filled project I ever attempted. I don’t even feel like getting into it in this post. I can’t taint these pretty photos with the story about this dumb mirror! I’ll pair the story with the full before & after, how’s that?

What I will tell you is this: this mirror came out to be $65, is a DIY, AND an Ikea hack!

California Modern brass, wood & marble bathroom | brittanyMakesThanks for hanging in there while I get this mirror situation sorted out. The take-away from this project is this: spend a little extra when it’s needed. Finishing things off the right way is always worth the few extra bucks.

I’m happy to report I have officially taken the first shower! My husband hasn’t moved in yet, I’m choosing to think he’s letting me soak it all in by myself for a few days, but in reality I think he’s just afraid he’ll get pee splatter all over the vanity and make me mad. #truth

      1. Ah man, thanks Shannon! I’m working with a wide angle lately, I think I posted about it earlier this year? January maybe? I’m seriously going to finish posting my photo taking tips soon. I literally need like 15 more hours in the day to do anything, ugh.

    1. yeah! it shouldn’t have been this big of a deal, my tutorial will be more of a ‘what not to do’ lol.

    2. I think I’m super late to the party…but what is that vanity?!?!?!? I saw the inspo but where did you get that?

      1. Thanks! I had the cabinet custom made by a local cabinet maker. I sourced the legs, the counter top and the sink and my contractor installed all the pieces together. Sometimes you just gotta do things yourself if you can’t find what you want!

    3. Brittany, I’m a fan; you’re bathroom looks great! I stumbled upon your project while sourcing inspo for my own bath reno via pinterest. It looks like our bathrooms have a very similar layout, if not identical. Do you mind sharing the measurements/dimensions? I believe the vanity is 40″x20″ correct? Where did you find the matte black tub faucet/ showerhead? Also, where did you pick up that mirror and what are the measurements? The size & scale looks great! Appreciate the time you take to share your passion!

      1. Hey Texan! The thank you for your comment! Without whipping out my measuring tape, I do believe our vanity is about that, 40×26. The legs are 8″ tall and the counter brings it about normal kitchen counter height ~36″ from floor. The faucets are Jason Wu for Brizo, I originally sourced them online but ordered them and all parts needed from our local plumber supply. The mirror is an IKEA hack! I need to post about it lol. I painted the Stromby picture frame in matte black and got a mirror cut to fit, in total cost less than $60. Hope that helps!

    4. I love this bathroom so much! I have been using it as inspiration for my own bathroom remodel. I realize this post is a few years old but I’m hoping you could tell me what color grout you used on the floor. Thanks so much!
