Horray!!! My latest DIY for The Home Depot Apron blog is live! Go check out how I made this side table inspired by the age old, and currently trending, himmeli technique. What a cool table, right? This project is so much easier than it looks. It’s beginner level, for sure! The table top is made from walnut veneer plywood – I bet you didn’t know you could get walnut veneer plywood, did you? All supplies are from Home Depot.

Have a great Monday!
So great. Love it!
This is incredible! Seriously great job
Thank you!!
This is awesome! I also LOVE your rug!
I’m always amazed at what’s available at HD. This is fabulous, Brittany!
Okay, I found you through Instagram and you are just awesome, anyone who makes this table just has to be! Love!
Thank you Gillian!
Gorgeous!
This is so awesome! Such a great idea!
Thank you!
I love it! The perfect side table!
I’m desperately searching for a rug like that! I know you scored it at a flea market, but do you know what that style is called? Wondering what I should be searching for. Thanks so much, and gorgeous room and table!
Hi Maia, the style is called bokhara!
Love this! How tall is the finished table and what is the diameter of the wood top?
Of course! I think the top diameter is roughly 30″, and the height is about normal coffee table height ~16″? (sorry, I dont have the table to measure right this minute!)
hi Brittany, i saw this table and fell in love. i thought it’d be a quick weekend project for my boyfriend i, i was way wrong! we have all of the supplies, minus the twine and i was wondering what kind of other material can be used instead. and i was also wondering what kind of knots you used.
Hey Amber, Just regular old square knots! Twine has some give to it, so you will be able to pull very tightly. Rope doesn’t work well as you wont be able to pull tightly before you knot. I definitely recommend getting the twine. Keep in mind, it wont be until the very last pipe piece you knot together that it will feel secure. I was second guessing myself the whole way until the very end.
sorry to bother you again…i’ve never felt so defeated by a project. is there anyway you can post a video of the base’s construction?
Awesome, thanks for such a great tutorial! I welded mine together and chose a glass top instead. I love it!!
Welding! You’re a pro! I bet it looks amazing!
Melissa, can you post a pic??? That’s exactly what I was wanting to do!
Hii, I want to know from where’s the white table that you have in the back.
Thanks!
I was wondering, Is there anyway to make this table taller? Would if work if I used 12″ pieces instead of 10″? I’d love to have this as a bedside table but I would worry that 16″ would be a little too short to be practical. Any tips?
I definitely think using 12″ pieces would in fact make it taller, and also wider.
Hello! I saw a photo of this table and I was mesmerized but unfortunately the link doesn’t seem to work anymore. Do you have the steps somewhere else maybe?

Ran into the same issue but I found it at this link. Figured I’d share it with you!
