Venice is SO HOT. I put makeup on, and it just melts right off. And you know what? It’s a crazy bummer of a feeling – being surrounded by water that you can’t swim in. How did people do it in the old days when they didn’t have AC, or ICE?!
Speaking of cool, let’s welcome the ever fabulous Kelly from a View Along The Way! I’m sure I don’t even have to ask if you’ve met Kelly. Yes, she’s that cool!
I blog about how my husband and I are fixing up our crusty ol’ foreclosure on the tiniest of budgets! We are always trying to find creative, fun ways to make our home more beautiful, but do it without spending loads of cash.
{Brittany: I’m attaching a pic of my family if that helps! Image title: “family”}
We just built a new deck in our backyard (see it here), so my new favorite tradition is spending hours in the backyard sipping a lemonade and reading a mag while my family plays in the above-ground pool, which we affectionately call Lake Redneck. (Here’s the silly reason why.)
I want to cover my WHOLE world in raspberry and gold right now! I mean, how *delicious* is this combo?

I’m finding myself SO drawn to darker pinks mixed with fresh white or weighted with gold. Makes me get giddy and drooly everywhere. It’s not a flattering look on me at all.
Doing my laundry room renovation was a big learning experience for me, because it was the first time I stepped away from what was trendy and what I thought other people might love, and really considered my own tastes and the colors and finishes that make me happy. I wish I could get that message out the world: don’t decorate for other people! Dig in to your own style and find out what rocks your world, then just go do that! (Here’s a recent post I did on how to find your own style.)
Here’s my laundry room before and after. The whole update came in at $157 and you can see how we did it here.
Books! They are the BEST, inexpensive accessories! If you took away my big ol’ stash of books and told me to decorate a room, I’d be all: “ummmm.”

And second place: I have a giant, unreasonable crush on the little horse bust thingy on my desk. Isn’t he the MOST friendly and majestic little guy?
Emily Henderson! Not sure she counts as a blogger, since she does a lot more than that, but that girl just exudes style and I want to live in every single room she designs!
I have like 26 of these! I’ll spare you the full list, don’t worry! :)
1. Karate-chopped pillows.
2. Rooms that clearly aren’t designed for real life, or don’t look lived-in.
3. Toilet seat lids with the furry cover things on them. Know what I’m talking about? What is UP with those?!
4. All-matching furniture sets.
5. Teeeeeeny tiny art floating all by itself on a huuuuuge wall.
So much fun getting the chance to answer these questions. I’d love to connect with you! You can check out my blog here, or follow it via feedly or bloglovin, or follow along via facebook, twitter, or pinterest. See ya around!
