  • brittanyMakes a Summer VIP Guest Blog Series! {Dimples & Tangles}

    banner-INTRO

We arrived in Venice today. First we went sight seeing, then rode a gondola, and walked around ALL DAY searching for the white buffalo of gelatos: plain vanilla mixed with ribbons of Nutella.  It DOES exist, I swear!  Tomorrow I’ll Instagram a pic of it for kicks (and proof!).

Today’s VIP guest blogger is someone I find very inspiring.  Let me introduce you to Jennifer from Dimples and Tangles!

    JenD&T TELL-US

Hey there to all of you lovers of brittanyMakes!  I am so excited to be here today and honored that Brittany would have me over to be her guest while she honeymoons away…  Her crazy DIY talents blow me away, and I have several of her ideas filed away that I’d like to try too.

My name is Jennifer and I blog at Dimples and Tangles.  Those are really sort of code names for my kiddos, but they also apply to life, I think.  Sometimes things are all smiles and sometimes life has more trials!  I like to talk about my family, design, DIY projects, a little bit of travel, and all things decorating.  I believe that anyone can make their space a little bit more beautiful, one project at a time.

    Favorite-Summer-Tradition

Since we’re hot off the heels of another Fourth of July, that is sticking out in my mind the most.  My parents still live in the same house that they started out in, and every year on the fourth we go back (just across town!) for our hometown parade.  The rest of the day is spent at their home eating lunch, relaxing, and visiting before deciding on what type of firework activities we will be participating in that evening.  Predictable and maybe not that exciting, but we love it!

    Color-Crush

Coral!  It’s usually on my toes in the summer, and my laundry room is full of fun pops of it.  A master bedroom makeover is in my future, and coral will very likely be in the color palette there.

    Show-the-world

Well, my favorite project is usually the one I just finished!  So, in this case, that would be the Peacock Blue Dresser that I painted and added to my living room for a burst of color.  I’m not shy with color…I love it!

    home-accessory

Ooooh, tough choice.  Right now, it would probably be my giant clam shell.  I bought it a few years ago at the Ballard Outlet in Atlanta while there on a business trip with my husband.  It’s lived several different places and been filled with lots of different items, but for a while now it’s been on the dresser in my Entry.

    BLOGGER

Oh, I have so many to choose from.  Of course, I’d love to sit down at the Pioneer Woman’s table for a delicious meal, thrift shop with Jenny at Little Green Notebook, attend one of the Nester’s Girl’s crafting days, or meet up with any of my good blogging buddies in person.  However, I think the top of my list would be Edie from Life in Grace.  She has no clue who I am, but I think she is such a lovely person.  She inspires me to think broad thoughts about life and faith, read more (other than fiction!), cook new things, and her decorating style is one of my very favorites.  She seems like a person that would put anyone at ease!

    Pet-Peeve
Lamp cords!  There’s nothing that can ruin an otherwise beautiful photo or room faster.  Sometimes it’s challenging, but there’s almost always a way to hide them away.
Thanks again for having me, Brittany!  It’s been so fun to share with you all today.

    **********************************************

Jennifer is such an inspiration seeing how she’s decorated her own home.  I’m the type of person who finds it difficult to completely design a room, but Jennifer? She utilizes color, versatility, and full-on creativity in designing her home.  Apart from her favorite projects, I’m totally in inspired by her mirrored wall gallery!

I hope you’ve been enjoying this series! I have a few more guests to introduce you to, so stay tuned!
