    banner-INTRO

I mentioned yesterday about being honeymoon-bound.  Today We’re in London!  Well, since I’m relaxing and getting tan for 2 weeks, I’ve reached out some incredibly talented bloggers and asked their hand in helping me escape the real world for 2 weeks by answering a few fun questions, and letting me share their answers here on the blog.  We’ve got 10 beautiful ladies lined up for your reading pleasure.

Let me introduce you to the sweet Julia Konya from Cuckoo 4 Design!

    TELL-US
Hi, I am Julia (pronounced Youleeya) and I have a little blog called Cuckoo4Design. Are you wondering how I came up with the name Cuckoo4Design? Well, here it goes in case you do! Several years ago when my son was still a toddler,  he had a play date with the son of one of our friends. And you know how kids (especially older toddlers) say things that they’ve heard from parents but shouldn’t repeat? Well the little cutie pie came up to me and told me that his daddy calls me the crazy German. Haha…! Now I don’t know if this was meant as a compliment,  but I take it as such. I really do! After all I leave an impression ;) So when I thought about what to name my blog,  this little scenario came to my mind and I had just found my new love for cuckoo clocks. It all made sense to me. I know there are lots of “cuckoo for” websites out there but it fits perfect for this “crazy/cuckoo” German.
I’m a German citizen, born and raised and also an American legal alien (my kids love saying that their mother is an alien) who has been obsessed with design and art since my early childhood.
I blog about our little home and my love for quirky things and DIY.

    Favorite-Summer-Tradition

My favorite summer tradition is taking the kids to Germany every summer for about a month. They get to learn the language, travel and experience the European culture! Doesn’t get better than that!

    Color-Crush

Orange, pink and GOLD… gold, gold gold!

    Show-the-world

That would kind of have to be a project that doesn’t have anything to do with design but with our cats. I built them an outdoor enclosure, so they could enjoy the outdoors safely. I’m so happy when I see how much they love using it.

But… if we’re talking DIY projects then my fave has to be my powder room:

Orchids! {I’m sensing a theme here!} I love them because they are beautiful, add a little bit of color and are easy to take care of.
I love having flowers in our home but with our cats it has been difficult to incorporate any type of plants and flowers to our rooms. They have pretty much tried to eat everything (and gotten sick from it), except orchids.
They are a perfect fit for us and I totally couldn’t live without them anymore. I usually have around 5-6 of them scattered throughout the house.

    BLOGGER

I have cyber met so many great bloggers online and I pretty much would love to meet all of the fabulous ladies in person that I share comments with every day. There are some seriously talented chicks out there that I would love to meet. And to top things off, I would love to meet the Petersiks (Young House Love) because they are such a role model and inspiration on how to stay connected and friendly while running a super blog and business.

    Pet-Peeve

Well, well, well… I have to say that it drives me completely insane to see exposed electrical cords in rooms. A room can look so pretty and put together but if I see an exposed cord in it, it’s over for me! It’s like seeing a fly on someone’s nose and not being able to shoosh it away.

I must say, Julia is an inspiration! We are kindred gold lover spirits, and I keep forgetting to ask her if she’d like to remodel my powder room :P  You can tell Julia is one of those wonderful, genuine, outgoing and personable ladies that you just cant help but be her friend.  She is on top of her commenting game, and really makes me strive to be a better social media goer.  Thank you Julia for stopping by!

    1. Thank you so much for having me today, Brittany! It’s a total honor to be on your fabulous blog. I wish you the best honeymoon ever!

    2. Ahh!!! Exposed cords! I am trying to figure out how to conceal two lamp cords in my office right now! I need your cord hiding expertise, Julia! ;)
