WOWEEEE! I’m MARRIED!!! Check out #bigitalianwedding on IG or Twitter for some great pics of the full weekend of festivities! You might even catch a glimpse of those marquee lights I’ve been working on (wink wink).
Since we’re still in full wedding celebration mode, aka honeymoon, aka let’s get our butts out of here and relax! I thought this would be the PERFECT time to host a Summer guest blog series, something I like to call ‘brittanyMakes a Summer VIP guest blog series!’ (or something like that).
I reached out some incredibly talented bloggers and asked their hand in helping me escape the real world for 2 weeks by answering a few fun questions, and letting me share their answers here on the blog. We’ve got 10 beautiful ladies lined up for your reading pleasure.
Let me introduce you to the sweet Sarah Dorsey from Sarah M. Dorsey Designs!
Sarah kills me on the daily. Her eye for design is en pointe, her photography skills make me a little jealous (ok a lot of jealous), and most importantly, she makes orange look so dang good! Sarah is a jack of all trades, she builds stuff from scratch (like her bamboo nightstand which made my jaw drop so hard). I’ve just loved getting to know Sarah and I know you will too. Here she is!Hi Brittany Makes friends! I’m Sarah from Sarah M. Dorsey Designs where I make a rental our home, one cheap DIY project at a time. I love color, pattern, and a touch of the unexpected. I believe that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to make your home a place that you love. {True dat, Sarah!}
I LOVE summer! Fresh produce, warm nights, and of course barbeque! Relaxed meals out on the deck with friends and family with all of the picnic/barbeque favorites equals pure happiness.
I’m obsessed with coral! It’s not too feminine, so that men can still live with it, but it is still fun and bright. It also has such a range, from orangey to pink, to salmon and peachy.
I’d love everyone to see my bedroom grass cloth and upholstery nail head feature wall since we spent SO much time on it! I was on a time crunch to finish and didn’t fully plan it out first. It ended up being over 2,000 individual nail heads!! (Yikes!) Had I realized, I probably would have scaled it down a little. But I’m in love with the end result, so it was definitely worth it!
Fresh flowers! They make it into just about every photo shoot. When I accessorize, I try to layer a variety in heights and shapes. Flowers are great for both since you can easily choose the height, and the organic shape pairs perfectly with books, candles, etc.
There are SO many bloggers that I’d love to meet. I’ve made so many great friends since I started blogging, and I’d love to meet all of them! To choose one blogger, I’d say Layla from the Lettered Cottage. Her feature in The Knot, introduced me to blogging and that you could completely transform your home with a lot of creativity and little $$. Plus she seems super sweet!
Draperies that are hung too low drive me crazy! I like to hang them at least 6” above the window. This really helps open up the window and make the ceilings appear taller. Typically for 8’ ceilings I’ll make or buy 90” draperies, those extra inches make a huge difference!
Yup, Sarah is aMaZiNg and I’m so loving her DIY and photography skilzzz!
Everytime I see that feature wallI oooooh and ahhhhh! Just love it! xo Kristin
I had no idea who was behind that wall. It’s amazing! Going to check out more!
Congratulations!!!! I hope you’re having an amazing time on your honeymoon! Loved reading about Sarah today, her projects are so inspiring!
