New Rug Arrivals are in. Check out what's new!

Friends! Family! Lovers! Blog readers! I think I might be writing this to you in a dream, because I seriously can’t believe it’s real.  They say to pinch yourself if you want wake up from a dream… so I’ve been pinching and pinching, to the point of causing bruises, but I’m still here!  If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you may have seen some #sneakpeek #secretproject type pics posted.  I’m happy to say I can finally share with you the secret.  I’ve been asked to participate in Home Depot’s Spring Patio Challenge hosted by their blog, The Apron Blog!

For real, a thousand exclamation points are needed here!

I couldn’t be more excited.  There are, like, LEGIT bloggers participating in the challenge! Some I read everyday, and others I’ve met for the first time.  I don’t think I can share who’s on the list, but all will be revealed in due time!

Upon receiving the invitation, I don’t think I let more than 3 seconds go by before I replied ‘YES YES YES!’. It was at this point I realized, “uhhrr, I don’t have a patio at my loft”.  I called my brother who lives in the house he owns with my fiancee and another dude (the same bachelor pad house we lived in earlier last year before we moved), and asked if I could steal his patio for the challenge.  His reply? “If you’re asking whether I’m in, I’M IN”, then proceeded to talk grand plans of building a deck.  I quickly had to pull him back to reality.

Did I mention how overwhelmingly excited I am? THEE Home Depot knows my name!

Let’s meet our patio (or the “area where we put the BBQ”):

It appears small in this photo, it’s actually about 12′ x 16′ or so.  There is a ton of potential in this space, but as you can see it needs a good scrubbing.  Day one I bought an industrial scrubbing broom and some cleaning solution and scrubbed this bad boy for about an hour.  It’s really clean now, and since then I’ve spent roughly ten – fifteen hours prepping the concrete floor.  You’ll just have to start following me on Twitter or Instagram to get the inside scoop!

I hope you’re as excited as I am!

    1. Congratulations Brittany! That’s so very exciting. It’s no wonder though you are so very talented. Your style and photography always impress me.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with for that space.
