New Rug Arrivals are in. Check out what's new!
  • gold dome earrings

Inspiration strikes at the most random of times.  For me, it was this morning, as I was getting dressed no less.  I had decided I wanted to wear a pair of earrings {which I rarely do}, to class up my black-pant-white-shirt combo that I threw on last minute.

I wasn’t interested in wearing just any pair of earrings – I wanted to wear something gold and shiny.  I was rummaging through my jewelry stash, which consists of jewelry I’ve made and jewelry I’ve bought… but nothing was catching my eye.  Instead of giving up and going accessory-less, inspiration hit and I scurried to my jewelry supplies to whip something up.

I have all sorts of supplies in my box of beads and gems, so I was confident I’d find something gold and shiny.  I spied two angular gold dome pendants, and grabbed two bright coral beads, some 24g wire, a pair of needle nosed pliers, wire cutters, and a pair of round-nosed pliers, and went to town.  I connected the ear wires and gold dome pendants with a single wire-wrap.  No joke, it took me 5 minutes to make these earrings.

Luckily I had pre-made a few ear wires, otherwise it would have taken me 5 more minutes to prep 2 ear wires for the earrings.

Sometimes you just need to follow through when inspiration hits! Even though I was running late, I managed to whip up a cute pair of earrings to make my day.

    1. Fabulous. You’ve just really got it going on. I find it really helps to have your supplies accessible. I know now why artists always spend so much time in their studio and many prefer to have their studio within their living space. The more I am surrounded (or within arms reach, anyway) of my ‘pretties’, the easier it is for me to burst inspirational, create, and produce the ‘Voila!’ du jour! Bravo on the beautiful and inspirational earrings. It really is the little things that put the bounce in our steps, isn’t it?
