New Rug Arrivals are in. Check out what's new!

    A few weeks ago I officially pried myself {and my blog} out of Typepad’s death grip, then dove head first into the heavenly world of WordPress. If anyone has worked with Typepad before, they should know this event is worth celebrating!  Sadly, I was only able to celebrate for a few minutes or so, until I realized I had made the move one step too soon.  The short story is, all my image links broke during the move to WordPress (which you may have noticed when visiting some old posts).  The long, and nontechnical story is, Typepad hates it when bloggers leave so they make it impossible to regain control over your own content.  There are special steps Typepad bloggers need to take prior to the move in order to keep all image links intact, and being a novice at this web design thing, I didn’t realize these special steps existed.  So, if you’re a Typepad blogger and are thinking of making the move to WordPress (which I FULLY recommend!), make sure to do extra research regarding transferring images before you flip the switch.

    Now for the fun part! I’m {slowly but surely} going back and re-uploading the images to my old blog posts.  It’s a tremendous feat, but I’m determined to get it done.  I thought it would be fun to reinstate my top posts first, so we can revisit them and see how far this blog has come!

    Let’s count down the top 5 posts! { click on the image to be re-directed to the post }

    #5 The $5 Gilded Chair

    My love affair with gold leaf is still abloom.  It’s impractical, but I would gold leaf everything if I could! My fiancee actually lives in fear that I will do such a thing… come home to a gilded bulldog, or worse, his Playstation.

    #4 Ikea Filigree Mirror

    This was one of my first band wagon projects.  I adored the look of the filigree mirror, and when I found out it was Ikea that sold the gorgeous mirror, I ran over to Ikea during lunch and bought it without hesitation.  I really wasn’t sure what to do with it for myself, it happened to be the perfect gift for my friend’s baby shower.

    #3 DIY Aqua Loop Earrings

    I’m a jewelry designer by heart, although lately it comes in waves as I’ve been exercising my other DIY talents recently.  These earrings have always been a best seller, and invoke endless compliments whenever I wear them.  The DIY might be challenging, but I encourage you to try it out yourself! The biggest reward is receiving compliments on a piece of jewelry you’ve made yourself.

    And SURPRISE! If you don’t feel like making jewelry yourself, check out my shop! I’d like to extend a killer coupon to my family of readers, here is a 50% off coupon code: JEWELS50, use it when checking out!

    #2 West Elm Pouf Hack

    Poufs! Don’t we all yearn for one of West Elm’s poufs? With a price tag over $200, many of us remain pouf-less.  I decided to challenge my sewing abilities and make one myself! I’ve sold a few, and made a few for family and friends, and I do have a few up for sale in my shop if you’re interested!

    AND GUESS WHAT? Here’s a 50% off coupon! Woot! Just enter PILLOW50 at checkout and you’ll get half-off.

    #1 DIY Flannel Infinity Scarf

    Who would have guessed this project would have become the most favored post? I’m really excited for Fall, because I have a yards and yards of flannel to turn into infinity scarves.  Don’t worry, it’s fresh, new fabric and not my fiancee’s PJs!

    It’s so fun to look back on some of the projects, tutorials, and DIY’s I did when I started this blog.  I’m so focused on putting together our new place that I’ve put crafts and sewing projects on the back burner.

    Now, let me ask you a favor!  Send me a note, an email, or a comment, telling me what posts of mine you remember having loved that you think I should fix first! I would love to hear your thoughts, as they make me feel connected to you as a reader, like a close pen pal that I’ve never had the pleasure to meet.  I can’t wait to hear from you!
