  • I Spy a DIY – #2

I'm already loving this series, and we're only at installment #2!  I spent so many hours last week checking out a myriad of incredible DIY projects out in blog land.  I probably spent too much time, to be honest, but I think I've nailed down a secret method that'll prevent me from wasting precious hours.

To recap on last week's post, I began this series to showcase one show-stopping DIY project every week.  I am a working gal, which means I can only dream of having enough free time to tackle all sorts of DIY projects.  So, instead of pouting because I have to go to work 9 hours a day, I've decided to start this series to share all the dazzling DIY projects that I don't have enough time to do myself.  I'm a strong believer in sharing, so, get ready because this series is going to get in-tense

Let me introduce you to Stephanie of Cre8tive Designs, Inc.  Stephanie is an incredibly talented interior designer, mother, dog lover, and San Diego resident.  If I hadn't mentioned it before, I lived in San Diego for 7 years, and I miss it sooooo much.  Already Stephanie and I have a lot in common!  Let's take a look at Stephanie's project – a velvet tufted headboard!

Wow! And I thought I could care less about diamond tufting.  My mind has been changed!  And, what perfect fabric choice! Stephanie turned a $30 bland, used-to-be-hideous Craigslist headboard into a stunning statement piece.  Here's what it looked like before:

    And the after:

Stephanie had been holding on to the image that inspired this headboard for almost 2 years!  Her patience was worth waiting for the perfect headboard to fall into her lap. This was her inspiration:

What's funny is, I'll be using Stephanie's headboard as my inspiration!  I love how that works.  Stephanie was so kind to share a very thorough tutorial on how she turned that old headboard into a beauty, a true booty-to-loot transformation in my book!

I can't begin to tell you how much I adore this headboard.  I hope Stephanie and I become friends, because I will be asking her maaaany questions once I decide to tackle a headboard of my own!

    1. Oh Brittany, you just made my day with all those sweet things you said. All take you as a friend any day! It just makes me so happy to know that I have inspired someone with what I do, thank you!

    2. I am going to do this one. My parents live in an area where there are lots of good deals on used/antique furniture and they are now on the lookout for me! It’s going in my guest room as well, in a navy, cobalt blue and white paisley pattern. I can’t wait!! Thanks Brittany for the inspiration!!
