I still consider myself a very newbie DIY blogger, which is totally cool and I have zero qualms over it. It keeps me going, actually, to continue to work on my skills and take on new projects. I'm learning all sorts of things for the first time, like where to go for photography tips, what link parties to join on any given day of the week.
Today I learned a very exciting new thing – where to vote for the best DIY blog! Apartment Therapy hostsThe Homies award, where readers vote for the best blogs in categories like home design, family, DIY, recipes, health & cooking, and food photography.
Only a few months ago did I start following Apartment Therapy. Apartment Therapy is an amazing blog, they have had a tremendous impact on their community of readers and bloggers. The site is all about sharing and featuring stories, projects, designs, which helps give a leg up to any new blogger, like myself! I was lucky enough to have my gilded chair featured last month, and I made some new friends from it too!
So, why am I sharing this with you? Don't worry, in no way am I asking for your vote or that I think I'm worthy of a top DIY blog nomination. Remember, I'm still a newbie! I'm sharing because I believe in this community of home designers, DIY advocates, self made photographers, and food experts. It's all I can do to pass this information on to my readers to help those bloggers that have worked hard for years, gain recognition for all their hard work.
