  • a berry Valentine’s Day dessert

Happy Valentine's day everybody! I hope you all have special plans tonight, whether it be with your family, friends, special someone, or just kickin' it solo.  I plan to cook up an all American man's meal tonight – steak & potatoes! Super original, right?  Well, we actually never cook steak, so it is a treat for us. I might even wrap the steak in bacon! Droool.

If dinner wasn't already fat-kid enough, I'm still deciding on what to make for dessert… to help me decide, I gathered a list of my favorites.  Here are 5 no-fail, incredibly easy and delicious desserts:

#1 The Brownie & Berry Trifle

    via Trifle

I have a box of brownie mix at home, I could whip this up so easy! Make the easy version by grabbing whipped cream, fresh berries, and brownie mix.  Crumble up the brownies and layer in a cup with the berries and whipped cream.  Delish! Not a fan of brownies? Substitute with angel food cake and turn it into a strawberry shortcake.  This is a classic favorite.

    #2 Chocolate Covered Strawberries

    Chocolate-strawberries

Are you catching a theme? I LOVE me some berries! Chocolate covered strawberries are so incredibly easy.  You can use a double broiler, or a sauce pan over LOW heat, and melt chocolate chips (stir frequently so they don't burn).  Once melted, turn the heat off and dip your strawberries.  place on a cookie sheet or plate, top with sprinkles or chopped nuts, then put in the fridge for about a half hour.  Add additional garnish by drizzling white chocolate on top!

    #3 Strawberry Shortcake Skewers

    Skewers

Easy! String cubes of angel food cake and strawberries on skewers, drizzle melted chocolate on top! You could make these in less than 10 minutes, no problem.

#4 Classic Cheesecake with Vanilla Bean Wafer Crust (hybrid recipe)

    Cheesecake

I love making the Williams-Sonoma cheesecake recipe, it comes out perfectly every time!  I got this tip from my aunt – substitute the crust with crushed Trader Joe's vanilla bean wafer cookies. No joke, It's amazing!

    #5 Chocolate Molten Cake

    via

    Molten

I have a secret molten chocolate cake recipe, which I'll share with you at a later date.  In the mean time, let's gaze longingly at this delicious picture! I want to lick up every last grain of powdered sugar on that plate…. garnish it with sliced strawberries, and you've got a winner!

All of these deserts have my sweet tooth shaking for a fix…

    Decisions, decisions!
